WHEN AGAIN THIS WAY I WALK

There are in our world mysteries that defy understanding. Once in awhile there comes a gift. Not often. Not to everyone. Or perhaps in our rush fail to see the gift or acknowledge it for what it is

And so it is on a spring afternoon that Andie walks for the last time in the Ortsvale hills that tomorrow will be devastated.  As she gazes into the forest she experiences a vision of its pioneer inhabitants following which her drive for answers leads her to understand her present. In seeking her city’s roots she discovers the universal design of all individuals throughout the centuries. WALK brings home the assuring truth that in the scheme of eternity times change while people do not.

Andie and her husband Mike move to a house that faces the Ortsvale hills whose forest is about to be felled and the land developed. Having left her job Andie’s plan is to paint from her home studio, a concept her fierce and successful mother discourages. She and Mike settle in as they deal with a rambunctious nephew whose mother is in a bad relationship as well as a neighbor who pops in while they are still unpacking.

Julia and Sam move into the developing Ortsvale hills of the late 1800s among wildlife and pioneers where they befriend their neighbors, a family of color. Julia and her husband settle in and eventually their Katie comes along. The child’s refusal to behave as expected startles her mother who tries to form her daughter into a proper lady. The girl will have none of that until she meets her teacher whom she wishes to emulate. Julia is happy with her daughter’s new maturity until she hears Katie’s news that she refused marriage and plans to become a nurse.

Over a century later the lives of Julia and Andie touch as each in her own time faces relational issues common across the ages as times change and people do not.

HOWMASTER: THE WRITER’S GUIDE TO BEAUTIFUL WORD CRAFTING

Countless books explain the writing process as something to be crafted with a combination of English rules and creative expression. While those tools definitely have place the scribe must in the end put pen to page or fingers to keyboard and write. Not such a simple task especially when a study book explains what should be done in order to craft a work and then fails to show how.
HowMaster: The Writer’s Guide to Beautiful Word Crafting does that. The personal guidebook explains with instructions and samples of published works how to craft sentences and paragraphs that come to life in the reader’s mind. Included as well are how and where to find ideas, how to write from prompts and

journal entries, and the effective writing of the short story, article, and novel.

Exercises follow each chapter.
Chapters include:
• Set Yourself up to Write
• Optimize your Writing Opportunities
• Writing from Prompts and Journal Entries
• Make your Writing Effective
• Story Makers
• Writing that’s Good for You

HowMaster is a wise choice for the writer who wants to weave words around the reader’s heart.
